Company = Partner/Division

  • A HubSpot Company has several Contacts

  • The primary Company associated with the Contact determines what the Contact is able to see in the Customer Portal

  • Companies are associated with a contact by the email domain of the user

    • There could be several email domains associated with a company record

Contacts = A user

  • There should only be one Contact record per customer

    • If a customer has multiple emails, you can set a primary and secondary email

  • New Contacts are automatically created in HubSpot when a form is filled out by a new user

Tickets = A form submission from Ui.Marketing or an Email sent directly to HubSpot

  • Each ticket has a Company and a Contact associated with it

  • A ticket is associated with a Contact based on how the ticket was submitted

    • If a form is filled out in Ui.Marketing, the email address entered in the email field is matched with a contact

    • If an email is sent, the email address in the from line will be matched with a contact record

    • If a form or email is sent from a contact that doesn’t already exist in HubSpot, a new contact record is created
