Overview

What

In the latest update to our sidebar navigation, we broke out Proposals (pre-sale) into its own area in the sidebar. Previously, this was combined under “Orders”

Who

Any users with access to both Proposals and Orders in Ui.Marketing

Why

We want to improve our navigational system and make it easier for users to find the appropriate area of the application. Additionally, as we build out more pre-sales tools, such as forecasting or recommendations, we want to ensure there is sufficient navigational space to support this.

Example

I am a user looking to access proposals, I no longer am required to click on orders in order to access proposals

Sidebar Functionality

2025-05-29 10.31.18.gif

The sidebar is broken out into two sections: primary and secondary navigation.

  • Primary: This is the first dark blue bar in the navigation. Based on the users permissions, they will see presale, orders, reports, settings, notifications, help center and user profile

  • Secondary: Baed on what the user selects in the primary sidebar will dictate what shows in the secondary. For example, if they click on “orders” in the primary, then in the secondary sidebar they will see order and line item saved views

To open and close the secondary navigation:

  • To keep the secondary sidebar permanently open or closed, click the arrow on the sidebar.

    • It will remember to stay open or closed. Meaning, if you choose to close it and navigate to another screen, it will remain closed.

  • If the secondary sidebar is closed, hovering over the primary navigation will automatically open it.

    • Once you are no longer hovering, it will collapse

Presale & Orders

On the sidebar navigation, users will now see an option for both Presale and Orders.

  • When users click on Presale they will get access to all of the proposals they have access to

  • All previously saved views will automatically carry over.

  • Users will only see this option if they have access to Presale on their user permissions.

Once users click on Orders, they will get access to both their orders and line items. They can navigate between the two via the secondary sidebar.

  • Users will only see orders and line items they have access to.

  • All previously saved views will automatically carry over.

  • Only users with Orders access will see this in the sidebar.

Reports

Also within the sidebar navigation, you will see a Reports icon to take you to our reporting.
