Ui.Marketing User Types & Permissions

Within Ui.Marketing, there are various types of users types and specific user permissions. This helps tailor how specific users use Ui.Marketing to ensure an efficient experience.

User Types

User types are levels of access a user can have. This varies depending on who is logging into Ui.Marketing and whether they are an internal user or an external user.

The user type will also dictate what permissions are available.

Below are the user types:

  • Admin

  • Ops

  • Division

  • Line Item Assignee

  • Customer

Admin

These will always be AdCellerant/Techint employees with internal access to the platform. Admin users have access to all areas of the application, but will need certain permissions to be able to edit and create other users.

  • Users Toggle: By default, admin users have the ability to view all users within Ui.Marketing. However, if you would like remove users access from an Admin user, you can turn off this users toggle.

  • Manage Users: To edit/create users within Ui.Marketing, an Admin user will need the manage users grant. Only a select few users of Ui.Marketing will have this, as Product Support is meant to be the main avenue for creating/editing users across our system.

Only certain members of our Support team who have access to Manage Users are able to create Admin users. Not all internal employees have access to create this. This will eventually be replaced by a new permission called “Manage Admin Users”

Ops

Ops-level user types are external users who are assigned to a specific partner. These users can view all underlying partner/division reporting and associated order/proposal data. This is a good user type to give to a partner user who needs or oversees multiple divisions.

Admin users can create a user with this user type. Learn more >

Division

Division-level user types are external users assigned to a specific division, associated with a partner. These users can see all reporting data under a designated division, but only proposals they have created and orders they are either the requester, follower, or listener on. Division-level users can belong to more than one division, learn more.

Line Item Assignee

These are users who only has access to the line items they are the assignee for, they are not able to see reports or admin settings. They do have access to every aspect of the line item and the ability to enable or disable the integrations tab. This user type is best for vendors that we use that need to be able to communicate with our partners, like website development.

Customer

Customer users are the end advertiser users who want to view reporting themselves. These users will only see reporting for their specific advertiser and no other areas of Ui.Marketing.

Permissions

Permissions can be set to show or hide functionality within Ui.Marketing. Below is the list of all permissions we have. Some of these are geared toward internal/Admin users and some are for external users.

It is important to note, even when a permission area is toggled on, boxes will still need to be checked to actually turn on that permission for the user. If a box is unchecked, the user does not have that permission or ability.

Below are permissions by area:

Orders

  • Order Submission. Allowing a user to submit an order

  • Move Order Line Items. Allows admin users only to move line items from one other to another. Learn more >

  • Move Orders. Allows admin users to move an order to a new advertiser. Learn more >

  • Manage Orders. Allows Support admin users to delete an order.

  • Manage Owned Order Line Items. Allows division-level users to use OMS for their owned and operated orders/line items.

    • IMPORTANT NOTE: Until a full launch for this is completed, only Maddison Case should be granting this permission to users. We will eventually charge for this feature so we want to be careful about who receives access.

  • Access All Orders. Allows a division-level user the ability to see all orders and line items for divisions they are assigned to.

Presale

  • Allow Custom CPM. Allows the user to create a custom CPM on a proposal or order. This should be enabled with caution, especially with external users.

  • Change Requestor. Allows the admin user to change the requestor on an order or line item.

  • Proposal Submission. Allows the user to submit a proposal.

  • Access All Proposals. Allows a division-level user the ability to see all proposals for divisions they are assigned to.

Reports

  • If this is toggled on, the user can see reporting.

Users

  • If this is enabled, it allows Ops-level users to view their own users within their hierarchy. Learn more >

  • Manage Users. Allows users to edit/create users within Ui.Marketing, as long as they are NOT admin user types. Only a select few users of Ui.Marketing will have this, as Product Support is meant to be the main avenue for creating/editing users across our system.

  • Manage Admin Users. Available ONLY to admin user types. This allows an admin to edit other admin users (including themself), and to create/invite new admin user types to Ui.Marketing

Hierarhcies

With this area enabled, Ops users can view basic information about their hierarchies and modify their company logo.

  • Manage External Integrations. If this is checked, an Ops-level user can integrate external platforms within Ui.Marketing.

  • View Products. This allows an Ops user to view their enabled products and retail rates for those products.

Edit Advertiser Type

  • If this is toggled on, an Admin user can state if the advertiser is a Select-level advertiser or not.

Additional Resources

This area is used to hide certain features within our application. These items are hidden when the boxes are checked:

  • Hide Help Center Widget. Hides our Help Center on the right-hand side and all quick links except for the Academy (unless that is hidden too).

  • Hide Academy. Hides our link our to the Academy under quick links and the cap icon in the left-hand side navigation bar.

  • Hide Chat Widget. This hides our Support chat widget from users.

Billing

  • If “Edit Billing” is checked, an admin user can edit billing at the partner and division level.
