How to Create New Users in Ui.Marketing


Overview

What

Streamlined user creation workflow by no longer requiring a username or full name. Moving forward, the username will be set to the user’s email, and the user will input their full name and title on their first login to Ui.Marketing.

Who

This will help our product support and onboarding teams and will eventually make inviting new users easier for partners once they are granted access to invite their own users.

Why

To streamline user invitations and enable bulk invites, we're adopting the industry standard of only requiring a user's email to get them started. This also addresses feedback from our product support team regarding inconsistent usernames, as we'll now automatically set the username to the user's email. Additionally, we’re gathering the title from our users so that we can better understand the behaviors of our users across Ui.Marketing.

Example

When inviting a new user to Ui.Marketing, our teams (onboarding or product support) will continue to request full names and emails for users who want to be added to Ui.Marketing. This is to ensure we have that data for user creation in HubSpot and The Academy. They will continue all of their pre-existing workflows during this step. The only change will be when filling out the new user form in Ui.Marketing; they will no longer need to enter in a username and full name for said user.
